What is the soul and what is its purpose? According to spiritual teacher Jean Huston it is “the lure of our becoming”. From other perspectives it is a path, the path of the soul, upon which our true or higher destiny plays out.
Esoteric, or soul-centric, astrology is that branch of astrology which focuses on the nature of the soul and its potential, leading to a deeper realisation of the individuals place within the plan of evolution. From the esoteric tradition the story of Hercules and his twelve great Labour’s, or tests, has been passed on as a unique astrological description of the journey toward soul realisation. At each stage and in each of the twelve signs challenges are met and lessons learned. The disciple/traveller, equipped with a growing understanding of the relationship between the world of form (the personality) and the inner essence (the soul),is drawn around the wheel and ever toward the goal.
In this workshop Bob will guide the group through Hercules’s journey through the 12 signs, highlighting the tests and the soul lessons to be learned in each. As a backdrop Bob will illustrate some of the key fundamentals of a Soul-centric approach to Astrology, including;
- The Soul, or esoteric rulers of the signs
- The Soul or esoteric significance of the three crosses (mutable, fixed and cardinal)
- The relation of the signs to states or stages of consciousness
Bring your chart along and join us for this soul inspiring and interactive workshop.

In particular he is drawn to the possibilities inherent in a fusion of traditional and esoteric astrology teachings. He has presented numerous lectures and workshops, most recently at the 2018 FAA National Conference in Melbourne; written a blog – “Across the Universe”, and led Astrology Classes at The Leonis School, Belrose (www.leonis.org). He is a current member of AANSW and a committee member of the Sydney Astrological Research Society (SARS). Away from things astrological Bob is also a practicing Meditation and Movements Teacher, and an aspiring author, currently part way through a book on the evolution of consciousness titled “I Am – The Enigma of Being Human”.
