Saturn, Lord of Karma, and Pluto, Lord of the Underworld come together every 33-38 years (the variability being due to Pluto’s elliptical orbit); their approximately 2-year conjunction bringing one chapter in the world story to a close as a new one begins. The current transit covers the period 2019 – 2020. Significantly, it is the first outer planet conjunction since Uranus and Neptune aligned in 1993-4. The coming together of the outer planets to usher in a new cycle is thus rare and dynamic – as current events bear witness.

In this presentation, Bob will delve into the mythology and symbolism of Saturn and Pluto to help illustrate the archetypal themes that they activate, as well as what they can teach us in regards historical events and patterns evident in previous cycles. He will also highlight the roles of Mars, Ceres and Jupiter (in particular), all players in the cosmic drama of 2020 which is drawing us towards Aquarius.

Time permitting, Bob will also tie the Saturn/Pluto cycle to the new 72-80 year generational cycle that it is overlapping within this period of heightened energy.

Bob began studying Astrology in the late 1980’s… and has never stopped. His interests are many; personal, relational, global, archetypal. In particular, he is drawn to the possibilities inherent in a fusion of traditional and esoteric astrology teachings. He has presented numerous lectures and workshops, including at the 2018 FAA National Conference in Melbourne; written a blog – “Across the Universe”, and led Astrology Classes at The Leonis School, Belrose (www.leonis.org).

He is a current member of AANSW and a committee member of the Sydney Astrological Research Society (SARS). Away from things astrological Bob is also a practising MeditationTeacherand an aspiring author, currently part way through a book on the evolution of consciousness titled “Life and other Mysteries”.
